MLS capture across both the North and South Islands was recently completed by Agonics on behalf of KiwiRail.

KiwiRail users now have a seamless XERRA experience across the entire network, including at remote locations and at locations where only limited access is available between train movements.

In this way, site visits can be undertaken remotely by KiwiRail users almost anywhere on the network.

The datasets also include coverage of the new Auckland City Rail Link tunnel, due to open in 2026.
