Collecting LiDAR at scale on railway networks involves many hours of planning. The end uses of the datasets we collect will of course differ from network to network and from client to client, but a successful capture campaign starts long before we arrive at a rail depot with on-road testing to run through some routine checks. Only once routine checks are satisfactorily done will we mobilise our equipment onto a railway vehicle or train.

Here are some photos of recent testing of our MLS system. The system has a unique design that makes it configurable for many different railway engineering and asset management use cases. With its flexible configuration, our MLS system is suitable for a wide range of tasks from automated measurement to asset mapping to construction dilapidation surveys.

Features of our MLS System:

  • Adaptable Modes: Capable of operating in both Profile and Mapping Modes to suit various project needs.
  • Compliance Ready: Meets established rail engineering compliance standards.
  • Integration with XERRA: Integrates with our XERRA platform for enhanced LiDAR processing and analysis.
  • Portable: Battery powered and portable for easy installation.
