As proud supporters of the PWI we were pleased to be able to sponsor the November Technical Meeting held at WSP’s offices in Sydney with Finbar Holland presenting.
In a presentation on deriving value from point cloud datasets, Finbar shared insights on how LiDAR can be used to solve both infrastructure and rollingstock engineering use cases.
Key insights included:
– The business rationale to underpin periodic MLS data acquisition at railways
– Transitioning to automated workflows for routine infrastructure measurement
– How network integration risks of new trains can be mitigated including risks in signal sighting and at the train/platform interface.
Thanks to the Permanent Way Institution – New South Wales (PWI-NSW) for running these events and to WSP in Australia for the great venue. Thanks to everyone who attended in person and online.
