We are pleased to announce that KiwiRail has engaged Agonics to complete a survey of the New Zealand railway network using our Mobile Laser Scanning (MLS) technology.

The project is tasked with delivering a comprehensive digital asset database of track, civil and signal infrastructure together with linkages to KiwiRail GIS and Enterprise Asset Management Systems.

An authoritative track alignment (centreline) with curvature values and linear referencing keys will be exploited to generate an onboard tracks database that will be used by the new KiwiRail Track Evaluation Car (TEC).

High resolution MLS datasets including 360-degree panoramic imagery and highly accurate LiDAR point cloud tiles will be processed and appended to the Agonics XERRA Viewer library allowing KiwiRail engineers and the TEC commissioning team to complete a wide range of LiDAR measurements and compliance use-cases across the business.
