Our Work

ARTC Data Refresh

Agonics delivers updated LiDAR and imagery across 2,000km of track in NSW and Victoria and including new Hunter Valley datasets.

Client

ARTC

Location

Hunter Valley and NSW-Victoria Interstate Network.

Challenge

MLS datasets collected by Agonics in 2019-21 had become outdated due to network changes. To help ARTC maintain its Ellipse asset base and ESRI GIS fresh datasets were needed as well as new MLS datasets on the Hunter Valley network that had not been previously recorded.

Solution

Agonics mobilised its MLS system onto a hyrail vehicle and over 2,000 km of track in NSW and Victoria. All data was uploaded to the Agonics XERRA® visualisation and analytics platform where new or modified trackside assets were extracted including bridges, signs, turnouts, permanent speed boards and powerlines crossing the track. The new datasets were uploaded to the ARTC XERRA® library including for the first time the Hunter Valley corridor.

Outcomes

  • The MLS campaign recorded zero OHS incidents. Thousands of assets were coordinated and matched against Ellipse and GIS extracts to support configuration management.
  • ARTC Hunter Valley track network is now incorporated into the wider ARTC digital data inventory.
  • ARTC project worksites and teams are able to use the new datasets for as-built checks and compliance activities.
