MTM HCMT Facility
Agonics delivers asset inventory update on new HCMT facility at Metro Trains Melbourne
Client
Metro Trains
Location
Melbourne, Australia
Challenge
To accommodate the new High Capacity Metro Train (HCMT) fleet, a new stabling and maintenance facility was established at Pakenham, Victoria. Extensive Signalling Ellipse Asset Change Request (EACR) datasets were needed to register the high volume of new assets that had been installed across ten new stabling roads
Solution
Agonics recorded track and signalling data at the facility using the Agonics Collector in-field mapping solution. Over 140 axle counters, 60 turnouts, and 120 signals were mapped. Special REB (Relocatable Equipment Buildings) housing interlocking and signalling communications equipment were surveyed.
An office-based integration and QA process was completed using GIS data to verify topological accuracy. EACR spreadsheets with embedded photo IDs were supplied to the MTM completions team.
Outcomes
- The Agonics Collector solution was quickly configured to meet EACR requirements.
- The approach resulted in a fast, accurate survey of track and signalling assets across the complex site.
- Strict format and content standards of the MTM Ellipse system were met.
