Agonics performed a whole of network LiDAR and 3D imagery survey across the Queensland Rail Regional network as well as the South East Queensland (SEQ) network on behalf of Mondo Power and Queensland Rail.
The survey was performed utilising a range of vehicle platforms including a hyrail and a heritage train (within SEQ). Activities included data collection, data processing, and LiDAR dataset preparation for delivery to Queensland Rail.
Activities performed by the Agonics team included network wide data collection, data processing and LiDAR dataset preparation, with strict quality assurance applied at each processing stage.
The project underscored the critical importance of correctly referencing LiDAR datasets back to the railway network so that engineering reports on defects and asset condition can be relied on by the business.
