Quality is at the core of our solutions and services and we employ quality assurance steps in all stages of project delivery. Our Work
BEHIND OUR NAME
From the Greek agōnios, agōnos (from a- ‘without’ gonia ‘angle’).
The Agonics name refers to the imaginary lines on the earth’s surface that connect points where true north equals magnetic north.
We choose the name Agonics in honour of our roots in the survey sciences.
Finbar is an experienced senior manager with a keen interest in how spatial technology and people can come together to facilitate more effective work practices in industry.
A civil engineer with a rail industry background of over 20 years, Finbar works closely with rail clients in Australia and North America advising on rail asset mapping projects and how spatial technologies and data can be leveraged to deliver better outcomes in rail operations, maintenance and planning.
With over 20 years experience in the rail and electricity sectors David works closely with clients to develop technical solutions and services to support the completion of track asset, clearance, and condition assessment projects.
Always at the forefront in the practical adoption of spatial technologies to solve industry problems.
David was instrumental in establishing the State of Victoria’s original PASS assets programme of digital rail asset information.
Mark has extensive experience in the delivery of large-scale rail and power LiDAR projects having worked both client side in the utility sector and as service provider to rail and power companies. He has a keen understanding of the benefits and limitations of technology in real world rail applications.
As Project Delivery Manager, Mark expertly guides clients through complex LiDAR collection and analysis projects to ensure that project requirements can be confidently met.
As Senior Business Analyst at Agonics Ida works on both internal and external projects defining and documenting requirements for our solutions and services.
With a PhD in Photogrammetry coupled with her research experience, Ida brings considerable knowledge of spatial engineering to benefit our rail clients projects.
Mark has an enviable record for the successful completion of numerous at-scale rail LiDAR projects.
He has worked on diverse rail mapping projects from the Toronto subway network in Canada to suburban and freight rail networks in Australia. Comfortable working in challenging environments, clients regularly seek out Mark’s expertise in the application of LiDAR in rail maintenance and operations, and to support the design and implementation of new rail digital systems.
Having worked with Agonics in his final year at RMIT and since joining the organisation fulltime in 2020, Simon has always demonstrated a commitment to quality outcomes on client projects.
Simon’s work encompasses everything from field acquisition to LiDAR processing. He also establishes complex data processing and translation workflows using FME to support large scale rail digital system implementations.
As Senior Surveyor Matt works closely with rail clients to deliver projects on time and to high levels of satisfaction.
An expert in LiDAR processing, Matt had led the design and execution of processing workflows on both large and small rail projects. Matt also routinely advises level crossing removal alliance projects on how to navigate their EACR requirements and meet asset management obligations as part of practical completion.
David is a Senior Surveyor with extensive experience in the acquisition of LiDAR at scale. Based in Queensland,
David works nationally on Agonics mapping projects.
A skilled designer of FME workflows for rail applications, he works closely with clients to devise workflows that support the design and implementation of new rail digital systems with high quality baseline datasets of rail infrastructure.
As Senior Spatial Analyst Rhys works closely with rail clients to help them achieve their project outcomes.
Rhys works across the entire LiDAR value chain, leading field acquisition on projects as well as LiDAR processing activities.
Rhys also routinely advises level crossing removal alliance projects on how to navigate their EACR requirements and meet asset management obligations as part of practical completion.
